Birth Doula Package
Price: 850$
What you're in for:
Three pre-natal sessions where I provide honest, research-based info, learn all about your birth love language (I just made that up), and assist you in nailing down a solid but flexible birth plan
24/7 support for questions, concerns, ranting, and referrals before and up to two weeks after your birth
Continuous, individualized support during labour and birth, meaning I'm in for the long haul and however you need
One post-natal session for debriefing, where I provide you with a handwritten letter telling your birth story from my perspective, as well as a small gift package for your postpartum journey.
What to Expect
First Meeting: Get to Know Each Other
Here's where the journey begins. We can ask each other questions, get on the same page. I'll learn how you would like to be interacted with and make sure I am respecting your choices. I'll give you a birth plan template to fill out on your own time so we can review it together later on. I'll find out what you already know and where your questions are so I can share that information with you at our next meetings.
Second Meeting: Provide Individualized Information and Referrals
I'll come armed to the teeth with information, reassurances, and comfort measures unique to your situation and particular needs. We'll go over them with a fine toothed comb until you feel confident and knowledgeable in any areas you're interested in, and I'm equally confident that I understand exactly what you need from me.
Third Meeting: Finalize Birth Plans and Practice Comfort Measures
We'll meet one last time to finalize our plan (and back up plans), making sure everyone is on the same page. I'll soothe any lingering anxieties and remind you of your strengths. We can practice birth positions, guided meditations, massage, or anything else you'd like to try (or not!). We'll get perfectly clear on what you want to happen during your labour, and what you'd like to throw in the fuck it bucket (as long as we can help it!).
Labour and Birth Support
Help you create and maintain the atmosphere and mindset you envisioned, wherever and however you choose to deliver. Remind you of your birth goals & preferences and cue you for pain management solutions. Help you "find your flow." If you have a birth partner, I'll work with them to support you the best they know how. Be flexible and able to pivot if plans need to change. Take photos and/or video at your request (please note that I am not a professional photographer).
Postpartum Meeting & Debrief
We'll check in a few days to a week afterwards to debrief your birth story. I'll point out the ways you stood in your power, fiercely and beautifully, and we can bitch about parts that need bitching about. I can answer any clarifying questions you have and provide any referrals, if wanted.
Ongoing
Provide emotional support and validation. Send relevant referrals and info or tips your way. Be accountable to you first and foremost, ensuring myself and the rest of your birth team are providing top tier levels of professional care. Help you troubleshoot problematic situations, if and when they arise. Make sure you know how hard you're rocking it, every step of the way, even when you don't think you are (you are!).

I will travel two hours in any direction for the birth itself. This would include places such as Bonnyville, Lac la Biche, St Paul, Smoky Lake, Meadow Lake, and more. I might offer virtual prenatal sessions to limit travel time if you are farther than an hour or so. Please keep in mind that if you have a very fast labour or if you wait a while before contacting me, this could lead to me potentially missing the birth. However, I will do my best to ensure communication lines are open between us and I am ready to go right when you need me. Please note, at this time I do not offer virtual supports for the birth itself.

My fees are 850$. This includes three pre-natal sessions, continuous labour support, and one post-natal session. I am also available 24/7 for emotional support before the birth and for two weeks afterwards. Generally, I will ask for a 200$ non-refundable deposit when you sign on with me. The remainder will be broken up into two equal payments, with the first payment (325$) due between the first and second prenatal sessions, and the balance (325$) due at 38 weeks or before the birth, whichever comes first.
I can be flexible, however, and I encourage you to inquire about a different payment plan that works better for you if needed.

I'd like you to get in touch at your earliest convenience during your pregnancy, if possible. I'd love to follow along your pregnancy journey from the sidelines (or however much you'd like me involved!). If you like to fly by the seat of your pants, getting in touch by 36 weeks would be ideal, keeping in mind that my slots may be full if you wait too long.

At this time, I do not have a back-up doula available*. There are, however, very few things that would keep me from making it to your big day.
*If you are or know of an excellent doula in the area who is available for back-up support, please send them my way. I'd love to connect!

Well, I am a Leo, you know. I have a reputation to uphold!
In all seriousness, though, women and girls deserve to take up more space in this world. One way to do that is through language. I'm hoping to lean away from my own imposter syndrome, as well as model for others one way to lean into their power. This birth world is the perfect space to do this. Throughout most of human history, birth was in the birthing person and their support networks' hands, not an outsourced, medicalized, controlling third party (today, usually a stranger - usually a strange man). Birth is a rite of passage, and can be an incredibly transformative experience, if we remember how powerful we are. I'm here to help with that, and one way I can model throwing off the shackles of restrictive gender roles and expressing myself authentically is to say fuck, a lot. Because we're not supposed to say fuck, at all. Fuck that.
